explorationimages:

Cassini: Crescent Enceladus w/ Saturn’s Rings, 14 April 2012. Also featuring a bunch of image defects due to dust that Cassini’s cameras have picked up over the years. They always process that stuff out in press release images, but I kind of like the effect. It gives you a sense that Cassini’s been around the block a few times, I guess.
W00073472.jpg was taken on April 14, 2012 and received on Earth April 15, 2012. The camera was pointing toward ENCELADUS at approximately 118,916 kilometers away, and the image was taken using the CL1 and CL2 filters.
